John Keats, an American poet, was born in 1795, and lived until 1821. He became a surgeon at Edmonton, and in 1815, traveled to London to continue work in hospitals. He soon discovered that the medical field was not the career he wanted, and became a poet. His poems appeared in the “Examiner,” and in 1817 he published his first book titled, “Poems.” “Endymion” appeared in 1818, and received harsh criticism. He journeyed to Italy after his brother died, and never returned. His poems are known for their relationship with nature, and their detail. In one of his poems, he writes, "A thing of beauty is a joy forever Its loveliness increases; it will never Pass into nothingness. ”
